Job title: Bilingual Media Analyst – Part-Time Contract Position

Job description: Are you an insatiable reader? Are you constantly staying on top of current events? Do you have experience working with digital content? Are you fluent in both English and French? Meltwater is seeking a committed and detail-oriented individual with a passion for news and business information to fill this part-time contractor position. You would produce time-sensitive electronic Executive Summary newsletters in the mornings from Monday to Friday using the monitoring and publishing tools provided by Meltwater, along with your superior knowledge of web-based and social media information search and retrieval.
What are Executive Summaries?
Executive Summary newsletters are Meltwater’s solution for providing clients with relevant news and business intelligence, curated and delivered daily by Meltwater’s Media Monitoring Specialists, working as part of the Global Delivery Services team.
Our service includes dependable, same-day delivery of Canadian, American, and International news, filtered through a sophisticated human-engineered keyword process that ensures clients get only the stories they need, saving them both time and money. We serve clients in many languages, and currently looking for candidates that speak English and French fluently.
Candidates with an educational background in public relations, journalism, English, publishing, advertising, communications, library and information studies, and related fields are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Enthusiastic and voracious reader
- Familiarity with the Canadian/American news media landscape
- Experience working with digital content
- Excellent computer and online research skills, including social media and RSS feeds
- Superior English and French communication skills
- Strong comprehension, writing, and summarization skills
- Strong attention to detail & ability to read instructions and follow directions
- Self-direction to work from home
- Available for a 5AM (EST) start
- Experience with Google Drive and Microsoft One Drive considered an asset
- Access to a computer (PC), Microsoft Word, Acrobat, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Skype (with webcam & microphone), and reliable internet connection
- Early morning availability, available for approx. 25 hours per week, and ability to provide at least a six month commitment
Position: Part-time, Contractor, Remote, minimum 6 month commitment, paid hourly
Hours of Work: Daily Monday to Friday*, 5 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. EST (varies)
Hourly rate: $18/hr
*Ability to work weekends and holidays preferred
Start date: rolling interviews will be conducted, immediate availability preferred

Ideally, you are:
- A morning person
- Seeking part-time work, potentially available for afternoon/weekend/holiday work
- Willing to work entirely remotely with your own computer and internet connection
- Familiar with the Canadian news media landscape
- Good computer skills
- Familiar with using Google Drive
- Good Communication skills
- Superior English writing skills
- Experience with media monitoring
- Reliable
- French Speaking (Fluent speaking/reading/writing)
