Job title: Azure Cloud Architect (Remote)

Job description: A company located in New York City, which uses artificial intelligence and cloud computing to help find cures to diseases caused by RNA errors, ready to strengthen its Product and Engineering teams by hiring a great data security-oriented Cloud Architect with Azure experience. This position is remote, but is looking for a candidate located within the tri-state area, with the ability to attend important in-office meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Allocate, manage, and assign computational Azure resources to the team in real time in response to internal R&D needs as well as external partnerships
- Manage data storage operations and partner with the Operations team to provide cloud budget insights and contain costs
- Manage the team’s virtual machines
- Take the lead on containerization development and maintenance (i.e., Docker) with a keen eye on data security
- Assist with all data security and data handling audits
- Manage external software consultants whenever the need arises
- Manage the team’s IT needs, including equipment tracking, ordering, and maintenance
- Assist with the creation and editing of data security policies
- Manage day to day issues including daily health checks of applications and processes, working closely with development staff to prioritize and resolve and/or mitigate issues/outages/application performance issues
- Monitor production activities/processes to ensure timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up, and communication of problems to internal and external clients, technical resources, and executives
- Ensure information controls, back-up, and recovery strategies are in place across all environments
- Analyze current technology utilized within the company and develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
- Provide clear goals for all areas of a project and develop steps to oversee their timely execution
- Carefully evaluate alternative risks and solutions before taking action to provide timely resolution
Requirements:
- Extensive Azure cloud experience
- Significant experience in Postgres, Ansible, Terraform, Docker
- Knowledge working in Scrum/Kanban/JIRA
- Experience in working in a distributed and parallel development environment.
- Good understanding of key design principles for systems architecture, design, and development
- Expertise with VPN technology and security protocols
Desired:

- Experience with Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory and LDAP
- Experience with Perl
- Experience with NodeJS
Expected salary: $150000 – 160000 per year
