Job description: SUNY Broome Community College has an opening for a full-time, tenure-track appointment as
Associate Professor in the Nursing Department available beginning Fall 2021.
A dynamic presence in the State University of New York (SUNY) system for more than 60 years, SUNY Broome is known for its high-quality academic programs and commitment to innovation. SUNY Broome’s Department of Nursing has an Associate Degree Nursing program that offersafull-time day and an evening-weekend program option. Program development in the upcoming years will focus on enhanced program competitiveness through designing innovative curriculum, a state of the art simulation facility, and renovated skills labs to address the learning needs of today’s pre-licensure nursing students. Development will also focus on dynamic partnerships with community healthcare agencies to increase the number of nurses in the local practice community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing is required.
- A minimum of six (6) years teaching experience or appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity.
- Experience teachingavariety of nursing subjects in the classroom, lab, and clinical setting.
- Must be NYS licensed RN or eligible for same.
- Two (2) years of hospital-based clinical experience is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strength in teaching, the ability to work with and develop nursing faculty and foster interdisciplinary collaboration with other academic programs within the division and community.
Applicants should be prepared to provide sound direction and focused leadership in a learner-centered environment and have a strong commitment to the community college mission.
The Associate Professor salary range is $55,957 – $69,946 and is a 10-month position with a generous benefits package.
Faculty enjoy paid holiday time during the winter and spring holiday season and are eligible for clinical release time to maintain advanced practice certification or currency in the field of practice.
Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
