Social Strategy – Associate Director

To help with this, we’re looking for an outstanding Associate Director of Social Strategy – a Social Media subject matter expert to help us bring that transformation to life through social. Sound like you? Read on.
What you’ll do:
Join the Social Strategy team that works with a mixture of client opportunities ranging from purpose-driven to product offering campaign projects. Our Social Strategy team is filled with creators and thought leaders who are often tapped by agency and client(s) to bring their experience of understanding cultural nuances to the table.
As an Associate Director you’ll manage Managers, Senior Associates, and/or Associates within the team. You’ll be responsible for driving storytelling and content on social as it relates to brand sentiment, cultural mindfulness, and integrating brand initiatives with purpose for our client(s). Your ability to manage client relationships and work with cross-functional partners will be key in this role.
Day-to-day, your role includes:
- Developing smart social and content strategies for clients
- Sourcing, planning and executing social and content programs
- Helping create and execute influencer strategies
- Developing thought leadership pieces and other editorial material
- Keeping a firm pulse on cultural and societal issues, pop culture, and other opportunities for our clients to make waves in social
- Building strong relationships with third party content providers and websites in professional networking arenas – attending/speaking at relevant events
Qualifications
We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:
- 6 to 8 years of digital experience in advertising, entertainment, newsroom or content fields—if you have social, PR or multicultural marketing experience, even better
- Proven ability to collaborate, problem solve and to build, develop, and encourage teams
- A strong understanding of media planning, distribution and content syndication
- Expertise with innovative, inclusive, entertainment-based social media programs
- Experience living in the social media universe—you’re in-the-know on all social platforms
- Excellent research and writing skills—and the ability to create smart content quickly (please include links to examples of your work in your application)
- The ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external partners
- A nose for new technology, new content solutions, social media events and developments—plus a strong connection with culture, society, and entertainment
- An ear for consumer insights—you get what makes people tick
- The ability to back up great creative ideas with sound analytical reasoning
- Willingness to travel—you’re open to new places, new faces and new ideas
