Job title: APPLICATION HELP DESK ANALYST

Job description:
- Receive end user requests via Help Desk Ticketing system and dispatch to appropriate IT professional.
- Support end users on all related IT hardware and software application issues, including diagnosis of issues and recommendations for solutions to continually improve the user experience.
- Assess end user computer literacy and determine training needs.
- Provide support to staff on effective use of information technology, including design and delivery of instruction and training to end users.
- Maintain applications, which may include support of 24/7 high-availability systems.
- Conduct application testing, support client application testing, collect, analyze and summarize test data.
- Advise on the development of system improvements, research and recommend acquisition of new hardware, software and equipment.
- Produce organized and informative system documentation, including details of application configuration and installation.
- As part of IT team, assist with set-up, deployment, and maintenance of leased/owned PCs.
- Participate, as needed, in regular patching of system outside of standard office working hours.
- Periodically work weekend shifts.
How do I qualify?
MANDATORY • Valid Class “G” driver’s licence to drive to various sites that are remote for public transit.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE You have:
- Expert knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, network operating systems, mobile and Apple MacOS operating systems, and the ability to quickly consume expert knowledge of unfamiliar software and train end users.
- Demonstrated medium-large business level end user support experience with personal computer technology and peripherals, application software, operating systems, diagnostic software, and centralized endpoint protection programs.
- Demonstrated experience with all Microsoft Windows applications (Office 365 – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), accounting, financial, and Human Resources Management System (HRMS) systems.
- Knowledge and help desk experience with Windows and Mac computer system technologies (operating systems, application software) and an Active Directory network and a VOIP, analog and mobile telecommunication environments to plan and coordinate applications software/hardware, monitor and review performance and operating capacities, and diagnose and develop solutions to operating problems.
- Expert level computer skills to navigate PC hardware and software applications, which may include the set up of user accounts and groups.
COMMUNICATION, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS You have:
- Oral communication skills to direct and guide staff, consultants and contractors in a user-friendly language.
- Written communication skills to prepare user operating procedures, end-user instructions, and training sessions and material.
- Interpersonal and customer service skills to provide explanations and clarification on applications, hardware and software to clients.
- The ability to work independently and within a team, and to work with confidential and sensitive information.
ORGANIZATIONAL, RESEARCH AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS You have:
- Strong analytical and research skills to address short- and long-term information technology requirements by advising on the development of system improvements, and researching and recommending acquisition of new hardware, software and equipment.
- The ability to adapt to manage change.
- Organizational skills to coordinate activities with clients and/or systems/resources areas to ensure proper definition of systems development requirements, training, testing, and implementation, installation and support for systems and technology.
- The ability to attend to detail and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including periodic weekend shifts, and meet deadlines.
