Job title: Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Job description: Are you a talented Controller? You might be the candidate Robert Half Finance is looking for to work with a successful organization that will recognize your efforts. To succeed in this role, you will need to complete daily operations, such as preparing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable. To succeed in this role, you will need the ability to create and monitor the company’s accounting and finance operations. This Controller role is a full-time employment opportunity, based in the Ottawa, Ontario area.
Major responsibilities
– Possessing a thorough knowledge of accounting systems
– FP& A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
– Assemble a variety of technical accounting policies, procedures, and analyses
– Prepare regular review and analysis of balance sheets and income statement accounts
– Ensure all full accounting deadlines are met to ensure organization’s goals are completed
-Prepare GAAP financial statements, which includes data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes
-Complete all Accounts Payable, Receivables and Payroll
– 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience
– Working knowledge of a variety of accounting systems is valuable
– Superior communication and presentation skills using excel
– CPA is mandatory
– Budgeting experience
– Analyze Financial Statements experience
– Active problem-solver who listens for cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
– Solid technology and analytical abilities
