ACCESS SERVICES COORDINATOR
(Temporary Full-time, November 2021 – May 2023)
(Salary Grade 6 – $29.18/hour)
Working in support of the Beryl Ivey Library mission and vision, the Access Services Coordinator participates in the creation and provision of key user services in a community-driven, dynamic environment. Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the Access Services Coordinator provides all aspects of user-centred circulation and reference services, including managing the Service Desk, answering patron enquiries through a variety of communication methods, providing technological assistance, maintaining supplies, and creating and maintaining learning materials in both print and electronic formats. Additional responsibilities include the overall leadership and direction of the course readings program, including processing, maintenance, and assessment, and the management of the Library’s marketing program.
The Access Services Coordinator requires an energetic, service-oriented individual, knowledgeable in user-focused service delivery; reference techniques; library technologies, databases, and equipment; and communication/marketing strategies for libraries. An undergraduate degree as well as at least two years public service experience and one year marketing/outreach experience, preferably in an academic library setting, is required. Proficiency in Windows-based productivity software, social media platforms, and creative design software is a must. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, project management, problem-solving, and time management skills. The ability to work within a team as well as demonstrate initiative and accountability for individual responsibilities is essential. Regular hours of work will be between 7:30am – 6:00pm. Some evening shifts may also be required.
