Position Title
COVID-19 Case/Clinical Assistant – Student
Salary
$18.90 – 27.52 per hour
Scheduled Hours
15 hours per week (minimum)
Position Purpose
Reporting to the manager or Supervisor in COVID-19 or Vaccine Operations, is responsible for conducting investigations and/or providing immunization for COVID-19.

Major Responsibilities
- Complete tasks and activities in the infectious diseases management process in specific the case management and contact follow up components
- Initial outreach to initiate the case investigation and provide health teaching on self-isolation to clients
- Support additional activities including follow-up calls to clients and providing clearance information to support case management activities
- Conduct assessment of contacts, assess symptoms and provide health teaching
- Document all case investigation details and clinical notes in the Case and Contact Management (CCM) System
- Complete vaccine related assessments including determining vaccine eligibility, obtaining informed consent, reporting and investigating adverse events, and providing health teaching
- Prepare, handle and administer vaccine in accordance with medical directives
- Respond to medical emergencies in the clinical setting
- Document vaccine related interactions in electronic documentation systems
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program in their final year of a Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, 2-year Registered Nurse program OR full-time diploma program in their final year of a Paramedic program
- Valid and current CPR Certificate in Basic Life Support (HCP level) as per respective program requirement.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer focus, communication, collaboration and personal ownership.
- Organizational skills to set priorities and work independently demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail while meeting stringent deadlines in the presence of frequent interruptions
- Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications and demonstrated keyboarding accuracy and ability to effectively apply software programs
- Ability to organize daily workload, set priorities and meet required deadlines
- Ability to work independently and work cooperatively with staff and as part of a team
- Ability to travel to off site locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
- Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required.
