Job title: Social Worker 2

Job description: The Acute Care Program is currently seeking a full-time, temporary (1 year), Social Worker 2 to work within the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program (OSP). Reporting to the service manager, you will act as a member of a dynamic inter-professional outpatient team, and be responsible for the provision of services such as managing referrals and triage, assessment, service navigation, short-term individual treatment, and case management functions. Clinical service provision will involve virtual care and may include in-person treatment as needed. You will be expected to assist in the program’s research activities, and will support the inter-professional team and community outreach initiatives. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. This position may require some flexibility in work hours, possibly with some evening hours. This position is located at the Queen Street site.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master’s of Social Work degree combined with a preferred 3 years of post-graduate work experience and be registered and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Experience with motivational interviewing and formulation and coordination of complex cases is required. Demonstrated skills and experience in clinical assessment, counselling, and case management are required. Experience in CBT – informed, DBT-informed and mindfulness approaches are an asset.
Your skills include the ability to make behavioral observations, mental status assessments, and monitoring of clients’ responses to care interventions. A comprehensive knowledge of community mental health and addiction resources, in both Toronto and the province of Ontario, is essential. The ability to provide culturally competent service to clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds is also essential. You will possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and within a team, and have the ability to communicate effectively. You will be expected to contribute to program development, research and educational activities of the service. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
Please Note: This full-time, temporary (1 year) position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.
Salary Range: $36.04 – $48.57 per hour
