Job Summary:

A primary function of this position is the creation and upkeep of software packages and images that are deployed to all students, faculty, and staff.

Nature of work:

This position reports to the Director of Technology and Research Services

Responsibilities/accountabilities:

The position entails researching new technologies (hardware & software), piloting their use, and ultimately implementing them in production. The Software Delivery Specialist is the highest level escalation point for complex problems with PC technology and software distribution. Required Skills

  • Technical: Image creation and imaging experience, low-level hardware knowledge, software troubleshooting, general understanding of virtualization, scripting/programming (Powershell, VBScript, AutoIT), AD, PXE, WinPE, DHCP.
  • Windows Firewall organizational: Experience leading, planning, and presenting projects, research experience, technical writing, analytical mind, customer experience.

Education

  • Completion of a university program consisting of four academic years or equivalent in a Computer-related field.
  • Verification of Academic credentials may be required Required Experience

Over 3 years and including 5 years experience with:

  • Laptop, Tablet and Desktop imaging with current industry tools;
  • Software Deployment and remote deployment and support, and;
  • Server & System management for Ontario Tech infrastructure environment.
