Description
As Purchaser and Computrition Support Specialist, you play an in important role in our mandate to execute efficient, safe & nutritious food services at Humber River Hospital. As such you will be:
- Responsible for the maintenance and intergration of the Computrition food service information system across all sites.
- Act as an expert resource consultant to all Computrition users.
- Analyze and maintain database supporting system solutions by establishing quality checks and verification points for database accuracy.
- Liaise with Aramark Supply Chain, Aramark Marketing and directly with Manufacturers to gather ingredient and recipe information required for Computrition entry.
- Responsible for implementing diet changes at all 3 sites, running costing reports, creating new recipes/menus.
- Act as a liaison on behalf of Food Services with clinical dieticians, speech language pathologists, IT and nursing units in the provision of nutritional care.
- Responds to the Diet Office inquires related to software and requests made by patients, families and care teams.
Responsible for managing and executing inventory control activities to ensure that the inventory is accurate and up to date by following all company procedures.
Serve as the liaison between suppliers and Aramark Canada at Humber River Hospital and will work with Central Purchasing Services for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services.
Ensure compliance with companywide purchasing policies
Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and internal and external customers
assist in negotiations with suppliers for the best possible prices and services
Maintain effective use of storage space to accommodate efficient transitions between production and inventory operations * Create, update, and maintain supplier information and pricing
Act as the primary contact for current and potential suppliers; resolve supplier and customer issues as needed
Generate and track purchase orders with vendors and with internal departments within the hospital
Receive, monitor and report inventory materials shipments from suppliers
Work closely with the Accounting Specialist to maintain accurate inventory balance throughout the month as well as full physical inventory counts at month end * Work with suppliers to track and return defective product
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
A combination of 2+ years of education, training and/or experience is preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong decision making ability
Negotiating skills * Food Handler’s Certificate Required
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
Self-managed, self-starter able to work in rapidly changing environment
Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Knowledge of inventory control procedures
Familiar with Foodservice Diet Office Operations, Computrition preferred.
Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload independently and use good judgement.
Must be able to work under time pressure and able to multi-task
