Job description: Daemen College seeks applications from exceptional leaders in nursing education for a tenure track faculty opportunity in the Nursing Department. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date is September 2021.
The Nursing Department provides high quality, adult student-oriented, accessible education to registered nurses. Offerings include an RN to BS program and three Master’s programs. All programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Applicants must be willing to teach across all program levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Masters in Nursing degree is required. A doctoral degree in nursing or a related discipline (or enrollment in a doctoral program) is preferred. Experience with program development, student advisement and recruitment, distance learning and on-line teaching, and in thesis or project supervision are preferred and highly valued.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with “active learning” in both an online and face to face modality
- Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents
- Strong time management/organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and all College administration
- Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching
Working Conditions:
Climate controlled classroom setting, but some activities/ duties can occur both inside and outside the office setting, including site visits to student clinical sites.
Post-Hire Trainings:
Various trainings assigned upon hire and annually thereafter by the Office of Employee Engagement.

This is a full-time position. Benefits are available the first of the month following the full-time employee’s date of hire and include health, dental, vision insurance, and fully paid life insurance. In addition, we offer fully paid long term disability insurance after 3 months of employment. Eligibility for the 403b retirement plan is available to full-time employees upon hire and an 8% employer match after one year of service. Tuition waiver benefits are also available for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.
