Right now we are looking for a Registered Nurse to work with our Acute Inpatient Medicine Unit, 14 East – Stroke & Medicine.
Reporting Relationship: Manager, 14 East
Hiring Salary Range: $$33.23-47.57 / hour
Location: Humber River Hospital – Wilson Site
Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 8 or 12 hours, days/evenings/nights/weekends
Union: ONA
Position Responsibilities:
- R.N. responsibilities general medicine, geriatric and stroke
- Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
- Utilization of computerized systems for patient care documentation.
- Participation in project teams or hospital committees as required.
- Resource/team leader responsibilities.
- Mentorship of new hires and pre-grad nursing students.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS certification or an agreement to obtain within 3 months of commencement into the position.
2 years acute medical/surgical Inpatient experience preferred. * Demonstrated patient assessment skills (Advance Physical Assessment)
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities, sound problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
- Excellent patient/family teaching skills and an ability to promote family centered care.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.
- Computer skills required.
- Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
