  • At least one year experience with Ceridian or ADP
  • Able to process full cycle payroll for salary and hourly employees
  • Able to calculate various payments such as sick pay, retro pays, vacation pays, etc.
  • Processing terminations and ensuring accurate processing of ROE’s
  • Liaise with employees and managers regarding payroll issues; research and respond to payroll queries from employees and managers and ensure timely customer service is provided.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of EHT, WSIB and CRA Source Deductions
  • Ensure that internal controls/audit trails are in place for all payroll processes and maintained the integrity of the department.

Bookkeeping

  • Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts, etc.
  • Allocate and post financial transaction details to client’s books.
  • Reconcile and balance all accounts.
  • Draw up financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet).
  • Collate and analyze account data and generate financial reports.
  • Track and maintain inventory records.
  • Maintain internal control systems.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare cheques, payments and bank deposits.
  • Prepare and process payroll.
  • Comply with relevant reporting requirements (GST/HST, PSD, WSIB, EHT).
  • Assist with budget preparation.
  • Assist with audit or year-end file preparation for corporate tax return.
  • Maintain complete filing system to support financial records.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping practices.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Working knowledge of relevant computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of accounting software ([QuickBooks, Simply Accounting] would be an asset).
  • Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis.
  • A degree/diploma in accounting, finance or business preferred.
  • Bookkeeping certification (would be an asset).

Expected salary: $32500 – 37500 per year
