We are recruiting for a permanent Pharmacy Assistant position with a leader in the pharmaceutical industry, located in the heart of the Burlington business district. This non-retail Pharmacy Assistant role is focused on prescription entry in a high volume environment. This is a great role for someone who has experience in community pharmacy. Working in a large team with plenty of support, the Pharmacy Assistant receives prescriptions over the phone, completes prescription entry quickly and efficiently, operates pharmacy equipment, makes blister packs, and addresses billing and adjudication issues. This is not a customer-facing role, but the Pharmacy Assistant should be comfortable speaking with healthcare professionals.
This is a great position for someone who is looking for a non-retail pharmacy environment with plenty of opportunities to work both independently and as part of a team that’s passionate about pharmacy. We are looking for an individual in the Burlington/Oakville area who is available to start in mid-August.

Responsibilities
What YOU will be doing as a Pharmacy Assistant:
– Receiving prescriptions from long-term care facilities and nurses over the phone
– Entering prescriptions into pharmacy software
– Filling prescriptions
– Filling high volume blister packs
– Using knowledge of 3rd party billing to enter prescriptions
– Resolving adjudication issues
– Working independently as well as part of a large team of pharmacy assistants and pharmacists
Qualifications
What YOU bring to the role of Pharmacy Assistant:
– 1-2 years of experience as a pharmacy assistant in a community pharmacy
– Proficient in Kroll or other pharmacy software
– Excellent data entry skills with both high speed and accuracy – this is a high volume prescription entry environment!
– Familiarity with resolving basic adjudication and 3rd party billing issues
– Great communications skills
– Positive, can-do attitude
– Ability to work both independently and as part of a large team
