Job description: The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Highway Safety Bureau Command are seeking a qualified member to provide operational planning and business analysis and consulting expertise related to Region and Detachment operations.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.

Must possess a Valid Ontario Drivers Licence

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation, ministry policies, standards and priorities, government policy direction and decision making processes, OPP policies, Criminal Code of Canada, Police Service Act Regulations, Ontario Human Rights Code, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Management Board guidelines and directives and relevant Standard Operating Procedures.

Business analysis skills to manage assigned projects and initiatives, resolve problems, and coordinate related work or project specific activities. Ability to problem solve.

Knowledge of research and analytical methods and techniques and ministry/ government planning processes to conduct/facilitate research and analysis. Ability to research, assess and summarize region/detachment from a range of sources to incorporate into proposed solutions/recommendations.

Ability to extract, collect, collate, evaluate and analyze information within timelines and submit work plans to supervisor, management and region. Analytical skills and creativity to design and prepare assessments/reports.

Interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with Regional/Detachment managers to support their program needs. To enhance information flow, manage conflicting deadlines, develop business cases, decision/information notes; provide advice and present information to senior managers and stakeholders. Ability to work within a team environment.

Written communication skills.

Oral communication/facilitation skills to clearly articulate knowledge and provide advice/recommendations to managers, provide guidance and advice relating to resource issues, participate in and facilitate meetings, provide representation on committees, deliver presentations, and to respond to inquiries.

Knowledge of computer applications and software to prepare documents, correspondence and reports, presentations and spreadsheets to research and retrieve data.
