Summary
Oversees the development, implementation, and execution of pricing and promotional strategies for all Spirits products in domestic markets. Works closely with the Spirits Business Unit and Domestic Sales to align pricing strategies and execute pricing actions. Utilizes extensive category pricing and revenue management experience to provide thought leadership to Domestic Sales on how to optimize pricing and promotional strategies.
Essential Functions

- Manages the development of and leads the implementation, and execution of Spirits pricing strategy across the sales, marketing and pricing organizations; ensures alignment between all organizations involved in pricing strategies and pricing functions.
- Ensures overall pricing strategy and performance support for corporate and department goals.
- Oversees programs and functions that require pricing recommendations as well as future initiatives that affect net pricing.
- Utilizes significant pricing expertise to manage the build-up of Spirits category pricing excellence across the organization, to include chain and independent retail accounts as well as on-premise customers.
- Participates in the development of and implements a successful vision/strategy, through strong leadership skills.
- Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
- Plays an integral part to ensure achievement of performance goals and objectives either directly or through subordinate staff.
- Oversees and may handle projects that have short to long term focus.
- Conducts special finance and business-related studies as needed.
- Monitors competitor pricing activity to drive recommended response.
- Recommends novel analytical approaches to identify pricing opportunities.
- Balances planning efforts with day to day demands.
- Leads the identification, development and evaluation of new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring underlying systems support business needs.
- Manages the preparation of all reports related to new business opportunities; analyzes significant variances from planned or forecasted results and provides interpretative comments and recommendations to senior management.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Develops, coaches and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate staff.
- If accountable for the work of others, conducts performance evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

Minimum Qualifications
- MBA degree plus 4 years of finance, accounting, audit, military, operations, supply chain, sales, consulting or wine industry experience to include pricing strategy experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years finance, accounting, audit, economics, statistics, operations, supply chain or mathematics experience to include pricing strategy experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility, OR Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of Gallo experience to include 4 years of finance, audit, accounting, economics, statistics, operations supply chain, mathematics or pricing strategy experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Supervisory or managerial experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA degree plus 6 years of finance, accounting, audit, military, operations, supply chain, sales, consulting or wine industry experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years finance, accounting, audit, economics, statistics, operations supply chain, mathematics, experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility, OR Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of Gallo experience to include 5 years of finance, audit, accounting, economics, statistics, operations, supply chain or mathematics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting most complex documents.
- Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Experience writing speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Experience making effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Computer skill requirements include: Intermediate MS Word and MS Excel, basic MS Access and MS PowerPoint.
- Experience applying advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
- Experience applying mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Experience applying principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Experience dealing with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
- Experience dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $110,200 – $165,400 (10% PIP Bonus Target).
- Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
