The Treasury Team at Gusto is responsible for cash management and banking initiatives that support business partner imperatives towards operational effectiveness and performance towards Gusto’s payment operations, accounting and risk/credit infrastructures.
We are looking for a seasoned analyst to contribute to the growth and implementation of treasury operational initiatives of bank account establishment/ alignment, fraud mitigation, cash forecasting, payment contingencies.
What it is like to
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Provide treasury industry knowledge, experience, and best practices to help the team stay ahead of the curve in keeping our payments, accounting and risk/credit teams of latest service offerings, services offered from our partnered banks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Payments, Accounting, Risk/Credit and Engineering to facilitate the implementation of new products/services.
- Review and approve payment requests (wires, ach’s) for the Accounting and Payment Ops team for customer or corporate accounts.
- Positive Pay Exception processing – manage/verify daily exceptions before bank decisioning deadlines for check and ACH payments. Verify the system of issuance/ record of payee name and issue amount to decide to pay or reject decisions on banking portals.
- Bank Payment Inquiry Verifications – manage/verify payment correspondence via email and or phone from bank to pay. Verify the system of record that payment issuance is valid and provide a decision to the bank.
- Bank Analysis Fees- Track/identify appropriate fee alignment across partnered banks. Work with Accounting with billing discrepancies and pricing inquiries for cost spikes. Track trends in pricing fees over set periods of time.
- LOI (Letter of Indemnity) Process: Receive and log LOI’s from Payment Ops/Risk Team for bank submittal, follow up/track status. Notify Payment Ops/Risk team of outcome and credits for reconciliation of returned cash.
- Bank Account Establishment -Manage the bank account opening process, collection of documentation from Legal and signatories for KYC and bank requirements.
- Bank Review – Quarterly Review of Users and access. Track and manage user access. Submit requests to users for new hires, terminations, and activity/continued usage.
- Weekly Cash Positioning – Input Bank Balances into Kyriba system via templates for manual banks accounts for Accounting & Forecasting purposes.
- Kyriba Implementation – Work with Treasury lead and accounting in the continuation of module implementation for Payments and Forecasting for corporate and payment ops contingencies of money movement.
- Provide analytical support and expertise for future development of low risk, high liquidity investment strategies for excess cash for future tax payments.
- Lead and facilitate treasury projects as assigned.
- Manage and monitor Treasury mailbox/slack channel correspondence for inquiries problems in a timely manner.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience – You’ll have 5+ years of relevant experience, working in a shared service Treasury environment with cross functional teams. A plus if you have worked with Payment Operations, Risk/Credit and Accounting teams. 5+ years experience working with Treasury Workstations (preferably Kyriba). 3+ years working with bank payment types (ach, rtp, wires), positive pay exceptions, and check management services.
- Operational Excellence – You are passionate about operational excellence and efficiency. You have an ability to spot unusual patterns and sharp attention to detail. Proactively reviews current processes and makes recommendations for improvements based on industry and company best practices.
- Analytical – Excellent analytical skills, including ability to use business intelligence tools, and sort through complex data to articulate business trends and implications. High level of intellectual curiosity with the ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to details.
- Discipline – Excellent time-management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attitude – Goal-oriented, positive, and proactive. Comfortable in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment. Can communicate effectively with partnered teams and senior leadership.
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $78,000 – $97,000 in Denver & most remote locations, and $75,000 – $118,000 for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
