Primary Responsibilities:

Support day to day operations of team as subject matter expert for department

Review staff member assessments and collaborate with medical peers to determine appropriate levels of care

Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements

Review cases and analyze clinical information in conjunction with medical directors to determine the appropriateness of hospitalization

Manage escalated concerns/cases to resolution

Required Qualifications:

Licensed Master’s degree level clinician in: Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage & Family Counseling; OR Licensed Ph.D. or Licensed PsyD; OR an RN with at least 2 years of experience in behavioral health (licensure must be current and unrestricted in your state of residence)

3+ years of behavioral health clinical experience in a behavioral health setting

1+ years experience working within a Managed Care Organization (MCO) * If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Level of Care Guidelines (i.e., Milliman, Interqual, etc.)

Utilization review experience in an insurance company or managed care setting

Experience in discharge planning and/or chart review

Experience in inpatient/acute setting or outpatient setting

Knowledge of the Medicaid patient population

Residence and licensure in the state of New York is preferred

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000.
