Job Summary:
The Faculty of Business and Information Technology (FBIT) seeks a Program Assistant to provide efficient delivery of a comprehensive set of academic and support services of FBIT academic programs.
Nature of work:
- Reporting to the Director, Planning and Operations, the incumbent will work with the Associate Deans and Academic Advising team, to provide administrative support to all FBIT programs.
Responsibilities/accountabilities:
- Coordinate the faculty’s transfer credits, change of programs, re-admission of students, student grade appeals, and change of grade
- Perform a range of functions to coordinate the administration of Academic Consideration process for midterms, tests, and coursework.
- Assist in coordinating the Academic integrity Process in the faculty from filling out forms, gathering appropriate documentation, scheduling meetings with committee/students and communication with all involved.
- Work with faculty instructors to gather exam-related information and assist in reviewing final exam schedules to identify issues or errors.
- Assist with event planning, including recruitment events and faculty events
- Post FBIT communication using various Social Media platforms and maintain website information related to advising
- Assist in the maintenance and distribution of student resources and materials in both printed and online form
- Assist Graduate Program Director with administrative support for FBIT graduate programs, including student inquires, admission process, change of grades, and graduation audits.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Dean and Director, Planning and Operations
Required Skills
- Advanced skills in using software and computer programs such as Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new programs, as required.
- Able to work independently
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work with accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Education
- Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Verification of Academic credentials may be required Required Experience
- A minimum of one to three years of successful experience in administration
