ABOUT THE JOB
As a Project Manager, you’ll work alongside a team of talented experts to deliver high-quality digital materials for a diverse range of clients. You’ll be responsible for supporting Sr. Project Managers as you guide clients through their entire project lifecycle; from kickoff to launch and through ongoing support, the Project Manager is responsible for assisting with the management of timelines and budgets, as well as collaborating with UX/UI Designers and Developers.
You will share responsibility for the day-to-day execution of client project solutions for academic institutions, nonprofits, and large and small businesses. You will report to the Director of Project Success and will be empowered to collaborate with peers and senior management to enhance processes, provide thoughtful and purposeful feedback on deliverables, collaborate on strategic decisions made by the Kanopi team throughout client engagements, and overall ensure the work produced is of quality, on target and polished.
As a Project Manager, your typical day may include:
- Managing day to day logistics for multiple clients and projects, and in collaboration with other Project Managers
- Understanding a client’s business needs and being able to generally convey those to Kanopi team members
- Participating in some meetings with clients, which may include tracking next steps, demonstrating features and functionality, and proactively identifying needs
- Supporting the curation of a backlog of work for each project; ensuring project teams have the clear information they need, working with clients to fill in any gaps, and shifting priorities as needed
- Expediting urgent requests or needs, and prioritizing work accordingly
- Carefully monitoring budgets and timelines to ensure tasks are completed on-budget, and on-time; keeping senior team members in the know by reporting with hours and progress updates on a regular basis
- Working with clients and project teams to remove barriers to completing work
- Learning and developing understanding surrounding complex technical concepts
- Working with senior project team members to forecast and resource appropriate resources based on a project’s needs; including front-end/back-end developers, UX strategists, and designers
- Reviewing and testing completed work (designs, documents, development work) to ensure a standard or quality before clients review
- Demonstrating good time management skills to stay on top of your workload and the team members’ you are supporting
- Knowing when to escalate situations to the attention of senior team members
- Maintaining a calm demeanor when in stressful or high-pressure situations
- Assisting in the overall process of making the company awesome by building repeatable patterns for success and happiness
Please note: you must have worked at at-least one Digital/Website Agency as a Project Manager/Producer to apply for this job. Drupal/WordPress experience preferred. Due to the volume on inquiries, we are unable to respond to unqualified candidates.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who…
- Have 1-3 years of agency Project Management experience – bonus if that experience includes working with Drupal and/or WordPress
- Have experience managing a web build throughout its full life cycle and support projects on iterative improvements and updates
- Have experience managing and working with distributed project teams
- Have experience resourcing development project resources
- Can demonstrate an ability to set priorities and communicate changes to both the development team and senior team members
- Can work well under pressure within a fast-paced environment on multiple projects
- Have the ability to manage the day-to-day delivery of engagements, risk mitigation, issue tracking, change management, and escalations
- Possess strong problem-solving abilities, intelligence, initiative, and the ability to thrive under pressure
- Have a passion for the web, for open source development, and for working with a bunch of fun, humorous people
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess an awareness of best practices with respect to performance, configuration, and development

This is a full-time position. Annual compensation is commensurate with experience. Not to worry. The pay is competitive and what you’d expect for this role. This is a 100% remote role, but you must live and be able to work in The US or Canada.
