Team Lead- Supply Chain Systems

Duration: Secondment up to 12 months

Would you like to expand your expertise in supply chain management systems and have a significant impact on LCBO’s business? Reporting to the Business Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance to project team members through all phases of the systems life cycle from user requirements through implementation to support and maintenance. You will also be responsible for managing your team on a day to day basis, provide supervision, direction, and guidance on work-related issues as the first point of contact when staff members need to escalate issues.

About the Role

Provide day to day supervision, direction, guidance, monitor work performance, and oversee day-to-day activities including but not limited to recruitment and selection of new employees to the group, oversee the new employee onboarding process to the department

Prepares explicit project plans and schedules outlining resources utilization, task assignment and milestone reporting with defined deliverables by project phase in accordance with approved LCBO SDLC development methodology; conducts project reviews with technical, user and management groups.

Consult with various Information Technology departments as well as with external system developers and software vendors, to ensure that systems can be easily implemented and upgraded as necessary.

Liaise with users to ensure effective planning for changes to user environments and user participation in all phases of the project(s).

Develop, through work with Data Administration (IRM), the conceptual and logical data views required to support all new and modified requirements; ensures that all new data views are consistent and compatible with existing and planned data requirements.

The position also acts as a people leader to the SPAs and ASEs and oversees administrative tasks such as performance, team management, managing and improving KPIs and effective resource management.

About You

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Sciences combined with sound knowledge and experience in project management methods and practices

Experience in ERP, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management Systems and Supply Chain operations is an asset

Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies is required:

Web Application Technologies: Application servers (WebSphere, WebLogic, JBOSS), Web-tier frameworks (Tapestry, Rails, Django / flask, Spring, Ruby on Rails), Object Relational Mapping (Hibernate, JEE, JavaScript)

Programming languages: Java, Python, PL/SQL. .Net, C, C#, C++, Visual Basic, COBOL

Databases and data formats: DB2, Oracle (and another query language), JSON, XML

Development Tools: IDE (IntelliJ, Eclipse), Library Management (GIT CVS, Subversion), ETL tools, testing tools

UNIX skills: Shell scripting, Perl, utilities

Operational tools: CA Unicenter

Operational Systems: AIX, Windows Server 200x
