About the Position As our Director of Finance, you will report to the President and be a key member of our leadership team. You will have a team of direct reports across multiple functions (accounting, HR, and IT). You will oversee Beatties’ finances, operations, and continued profitable growth. You will focus on analyzing performance, highlighting opportunities, and increasing company effectiveness by building and implementing resources that make us more efficient and profitable. You will: * Prepare and analyze annual budgets, capital budgeting, monthly/annual forecasts, and monthly/annual budget to actual variance analysis * Prepare monthly/annual financial, KPI, and ad hoc reports * Oversee the performance of working capital with cash flow management tools * Participate in the strategic planning process with the leadership team, working with them to improve profitability of their departments and grow in-store, B2B, and e-commerce business overall * Oversee and manage the day-to-day banking, and monitor cash flow, including forecasting and reporting * Lead the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate receivables, payables, bank deposits, and bookkeeping * Oversee human resource functions and company IT department * Manage government, bank, and major stakeholder compliance and reporting * Coordinate and prepare for year-end review with the external accounting firm * Maintain and manage corporate files, contracts and leases, and property and asset insurance Success in this role will be about going beyond just reporting the numbers – it will require an ability to think strategically about the business and its operations as a whole, and to translate the analytics into actionable ideas to elevate performance and increase growth. Working with Beatties This is a full-time permanent position working 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday, in our St. Catharines head office. Occasionally, you may be required to travel to our various office locations in Southern Ontario. Qualifications * CPA designation required * 7+ years’ experience in a high-level finance managerial position * Experience in a supply chain environment (including brick and mortar, e-commerce, B2B) would be preferred * Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) * Experience creating management reports, and providing analysis and operational direction to achieve desired results * Excellent computing and analytics skills, including high proficiency in MS Office products and advanced Excel skills * Experience creating and implementing scalable best practices How to Apply Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person – not just a resume.
