Robert Half Technology is looking for PC Technician candidates who have the ability to interact with technical and non-technical users in an understandable and concise manner while solving complex technical issues. This role may be for you if you are a self-starter and a problem solver who enjoys working in a positive, dynamic environment. As the PC Technician, you will work in the New York, New York, region. This role is a long-term temporary opportunity.
Major responsibilities
– Take responsibility for technology implementation projects and carry them out
– Install, troubleshoot and repair printers
– Communicate with suitable vendors to coordinate needed repairs
– Follow company quality standards to ensure the integrity of all electronic data records
– Break down, box and ship old equipment
– Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions taken or installation activities
– Help test functionality and support end users
– Interface with ticket submitters regularly and effectively
– Handle data transfers from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware along with break/fix
– Handle disassembly, boxing, movement and setup/installation on site
– Diagnose, restore, rebuild, and refurbish computer hardware, such as PCs, laptops, monitors, servers, and additional IT equipment
– Image and set up new computers
– Keep track of equipment and collaborate on possible purchases
Job Requirements:
– Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
– 2+ years of experience with PC and Mac hardware and software, and an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN
– A certification in CompTIA A+ is mandatory
– Well versed in network design and implementation strategies
-Experience configuring Firewalls.
– Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
– Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
– Strong problem-solving skills
– Desktop Imaging experience
– ISP experience
– Command of Network Printers
