Job description: WHO WE ARE:

We are a family owned business who has been serving those who protect us all for over 50 years. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a detail oriented, self-starter, with the ability to multi-task and support our internal customers by providing hands on IT support. This position requires the person to be on-site in our E. Yaphank office.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Provide support to colleagues across multiple locations with their computer and network usage problems, offering technical direction, instructions, and advice where they can to resolve the issues. Support can be provided in person, over the phone or online. Address issues ranging from network systems to individual desktop computers and VOIP phones.

Primary duties include:

  • Administer office 365 E-Mail
  • Administrator in house Synology
  • Administer Cloud services and file backup
  • Collaborating with our internal IT and external IT department on the deployment and maintenance of network technologies.
  • Enhancing intranet performance and creating internet domains.
  • Testing the exchange of data between computers, servers, modems, and routers.
  • Installing, configuring, and updating network software, as well as maintaining hardware and network devices.
  • Performing diagnostic tests and repairs, as well as developing data archiving, backup, and retrieval procedures.
  • Optimizing server capacity to keep up with demand in online traffic.
  • Testing network protocols and ensuring stable and secure server connectivity.
  • Documenting network processes and layouts, as well as enhancing network security.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in network infrastructure and technologies.
  • Swapping out computers and new equipment as needed
  • Perform remote login repairs as needed
  • Manage in house help desk ticket system.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will be able to check most of these boxes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or similar.
  • Certified Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco network professional preferred.
  • At least two years’ experience as a network support technician.
  • Knowledge of AutoSimply inventory, Barcoding & Sage accounting a preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, architecture, connectivity, and security.
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel to our other locations.as needed
  • Availability for occasional emergency calls to perform urgent network repairs outside of business hours.

This is a Full-time position Monday – Friday from 7:30-4pm. Salary is between $55-65k DOE.
