Reporting directly to the Vice President, Business and Professional Services, the CIO is responsible for a number of key functions, including:
- Technical support services
- IT operations services (high performance computing, cloud computing, management of specialized research environments)
- Standards and desktop infrastructure services
- Cyber defense services
- Project management and enterprise architecture services
- Information management policy and advisory services
- Intelligence and analytics services
- Library reference and collections services
- Data and repository services
Screening Criteria

Education
Degree from a recognized university in a field related to this position.

Experience
- Significant experience in leading and managing human and financial resources that include the horizontal inclusion of activities from across an organization.
- Significant experience providing strategic advice on issues pertaining to organization-wide information and technology (IT) functions such as: cyber security, enterprise architecture, client relationship management, IT project management and IT operations services.
- Significant experience leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments; interfacing with data management specialists and taking advantage of digital opportunities to realign business models and enable the digitalization of the business.
- Significant experience managing data assets in a complex multi-disciplinary context.
- Experience collaborating and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational outcomes
- Experience managing complex multi-year projects that address sensitive and high-risk issues.
- Experience in providing strategic and operational direction to staff and in rolling out and facilitating multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Experience at the executive level leading the development of digital platforms and implementation of digital policies or services to advance business priorities and objectives
- Experience in Data Centre management, cloud migration.

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC’s directives.
Salary Range
From $154,500 to $185,300 per annum.
