Location: Currently remote – Mississauga, ON

The candidate may work during Bank Holidays in Canada

Describe the department – size, structure, team culture
Small team i.e 5 members. Work closely with one another and across the broader British Isles teams & business. Must be able to work well with others within a fast paced environment.
Daily Responsibilities:
Describe a typical “day in the life”.
Daily team huddle at 6:30am – team discusses individual workload and opportunity to ask questions to team (i.e received query A, any team member has seen this before), good place to share knowledge and learning and communicate updates i.e. vacation or news.
Requests for processing and queries will be sent to our team inbox and through Service Now case management portal where it will be assigned to individuals across the team to complete.
Actively participate in group chats and meetings (share knowledge and receive feedback).
Large volumes of processing – must be able to process all assigned tasks correctly (100% accuracy – pay attention to detail) on a timely manner.
If any items require amendments, they must be reviewed and completed on a timely manner
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate processing of UK & CI monthly and off cycle payrolls, on a timely basis.
- Manually calculates and inputs changes to payroll.
- Verifies and audits payroll prior to and post release.
- Responsible for annual year-end tax reporting to employees and tax authorities.
- Responds to escalated inquiries using Service Now case management system.
- Ensures cases are closed within established service levels.
- Investigates and resolves payroll issues and identifies root cause and recommends processes to prevent re-occurrence.
- Identifies and recommends solutions to issues, process gaps, service efficiency and effectiveness opportunities to Manager, British Isles Payroll.
- Strong understanding of UK & CI payroll policies, employment standard policies and government related policies.
- Assisting Manager in ensuring payroll team meets legal and government regulations and compliance requirements.
- Maintain relationship with all payroll contacts in order to facilitate the accurate processing of those
payrolls.
- Document processes, create and update job aids ensuring instructions are continuously maintained- approval from Manager.
- Continuously reviews processes for operational risk and efficiency improvements.

ADP – process payroll. This will be used 100%
Microsoft Office – 100%
Web-ex – 100%
Must-have Skills/ Experiences and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:
Payroll experience – minimum of 5 years
Excellent investigative, audit skills and superior verbal and written communication skills – minimum of 5 years
Good knowledge of government requirements relating to UK payroll – minimum of 5 years
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc) – minimum of 5 years
Must be available to work Monday to Friday from 6am to 2pm.
Nice-to-have Skills /Experience and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:
Workday experience and knowledge.
Good knowledge of HR/Payroll SAP application or equivalent payroll applications
Good knowledge of UK ADP Freedom Application and or World Service application, an asset
Knowledge of Service Now Case management application
