The Contract Assistant role will report to the teams Non-Clinical Supervisor and partner with the OrthoCare Managers to provide administrative non-clinical support with determination of benefit eligibility and case preparation for clinical review involved in the contracts between OrthoNet and managed care payers. Working closely with OrthoNet’s OrthoCare Managers, payer representatives and physician offices, the Contract Assistant will be responsible for assuring that the administrative terms of the contract are handled in an efficient and timely manner. We are looking for a team player who is goal oriented, self-motivated, takes initiative and is willing to learn in a fast paced environment.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (9:00am – 5:30pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. This is a remote/work from home role.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
We offer 3 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 9:00am to 5:30pm EST Monday-Friday.
Training will be conducted virtually from your home.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop a professional relationship with member physician office, and managed care payer personnel.
- Educate providers on client’s processes for treatment review.
- Coordinate selected registration, scheduling, faxing, billing and reporting for OrthoNet contracts may include, maintaining logs, faxing, verifying information, entering data, generating reports, etc.
- Research appropriate benefit documents to provide preparation for OrthoCare Case Managers.
- Work with OrthoCare Case Managers to assure that information and compliance expectations are communicated to providers and/or members to meet the state regulations timeframe.
- Develop and maintain medical records to assure that all information is received, legible, recorded and filed in the appropriate manner.
- Meet daily departmental productivity goals.
- All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Experience with MS Word (create, edit, save documents)
- Experience with Excel (create, edit, save spreadsheets)
- Experience with Outlook (email and calendar management)
- If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
- Experience working in a hospital, physician’s office or medical clinic setting
- A clerical or administrative support background
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
- Experience working in a call center
Soft skills:
- Strong communication and customer service skills

Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $15.00 to $25.19.
