The Role
Title: Senior Director of Engineering
We are hiring a Senior Director of Engineering who has exceptional technical and management skills. This role will lead our Search and Content Platform for TripStack Inc. In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and oversee all software delivery and infrastructure for TripStack. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing several engineering directors, managers, and senior/staff engineers in our Canadian head office in Toronto as well as a team in India. This role will also be the key liaison for multiple vendors and suppliers for TripStack, such as Google, Booking.com, Amadeus, Sabre, and other large travel conglomerates.
Terms of employment: permanent position, 37.5 hours/week

Job Duties:
- Determine the company’s mission and strategy, define policies and concrete objectives and key results through the effective management of software development lifecycles across geographies.
- Authorize, organize and establish departments/program areas such as virtual-interlining and the unified content cache powering multiple travel websites across the world( Europe, North America, Asia)
- Allocate and approve people and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs for the search and content delivery platform.
- Direct involvement in hiring decisions for senior managers, directors, and engineers who will be working for the Search and Content delivery platform at TripStack
- Management and implementation of end-to-end content acquisition platform and distribution of flight, rail, and multimodal content for the TripStack
- Successfully liaison and establish data exchange frameworks with our business partners and 3rd party vendors such as Booking.com, Travelport, Amadeus, Google Flights, Kayak, Skyscanner, and other major travel companies.
Skills requirements (mandatory):
- Education: Master Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Work Experience: 15+ years of technology management experience in various capacities, including software development in e-commerce; background in large scale software development and previous work with cloud infrastructure
Skills requirements (preferred):
- Experience in the travel and hospitality industry
- Deep understanding and specialized knowledge of large scale distributed systems that serve the needs of millions of users online seamlessly with high performance and reliability
- Deep understanding and research experience with big data and machine learning, apply cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence
- Experience with complex software architecture and planning
- Experience in capacity and resource planning (internal and external resources)
- Experience building a world-class engineering team
- Experience integrating and designing high-volume API’s
- Experience building solutions to harness big data pipelines and leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at different levels – executives, business leaders, technical experts, etc.
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent project and program management skills
- Background in the travel industry and with one or more of the major GDS platforms (e.g., Travelport, Amadeus, Sabre, etc.)
- Technical experience with software development (Java, .NET GoLang.), AWS, GCP, Artificial Intelligence, and cloud computing.
