Data Warehouse Developer
Role Overview
The Data Warehouse Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining a company level data warehouse that will support large scale data operations across a disparate set of data sources. The developer will work closely with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Sales to determine data and reporting needs. Experience as a developer/engineer in a cloud warehouse environment is a must, with a strong preference for hands-on experience working with the AWS Redshift Platform.
The successful candidate will have strong, direct experience in the following technology areas.
- A variety of data integration methodologies (ELT/ETL) in a data warehouse environment
- Data modeling across disparate data sources with a variety of formats and structures
- Hands on programming in SQL and Python for the purpose of data movement
Other technology areas that will have positive impact on consideration will be.
- Apache Spark
- Apache Airflow
- AWS
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Design and build new data products to meet business needs.
- Develop and maintain internal data warehouse and reporting systems.
- Maintain and enhance existing data and reporting datasets to maximize business impact.
- Design and implement QA environment and processes allowing end to end testing of proposed changes from data ingestion to visualization
- Mastery of database and data warehouse methodologies and techniques from transactional databases to dimensional data modeling, to wide denormalized DataMart
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Sales to determine data and reporting needs.
- Create and maintain testable, maintainable data pipelines in python.
- Take the data warehouse to the next level by increasing data timeliness and solidifying the reusable data assets.
- Proficiency with OLAP Database Environments
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently with limited supervision
- Full systems lifecycle experience (from requirements to delivery) of database projects
- Experience designing, building, configuring, supporting, and maintaining high-volume, large database systems
- Must be able to transform data into traditional data warehouse schemas
- Create visualizations and reports for requested projects (SSRS, Tableau experience or similar desired)
- Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
- Experience using a version control system (TFS) and Proficiency with agile project management tools (e.g. Jira)
- Define the processes and frameworks allowing the Analytics team to prepare enriched and aggregated data assets for reporting and data science
- Deep understanding of SQL-based Big Data systems and experience with modern ETL tools
- Participating in on-call rotations

Education/Qualifications:
Technical Requirement:
- BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or other STEM field) or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing data warehouse analytics solutions
- MCSA/MCSE Certification
