The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. With a dedicated staff of more than 3,000 physicians, clinicians, researchers, educators and support staff, CAMH offers outstanding clinical care to more than 34,000 patients each year. CAMH Foundation is charged with raising and stewarding funds in support of CAMH. Its role is to help transform the way we understand and address mental illness by raising awareness and increasing engagement across the country. With a vision to inspire philanthropy to solve the greatest mental health challenges of our time, the Operations team is responsible for ensuring the smooth administration and management of funds, and implement processes and systems to support the organization. THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Donor Experience Representative delights all who contact the Foundation. As part of the Operations team, they are expected to quickly determine our supporters’ needs, decide how to respond and complete requests timely and with a high degree of accuracy. They will create memorable experiences in every interaction and look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall supporter experience. This is a shared role with one other individual and is a full-time contract position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide exemplary customer service through emails, telephone and face-to-face interactions.
- Answer incoming phone calls, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Effectively manage the Foundation reception desk, virtually and in-office (when safe to do so) that is frequented by supporters and patients.
- Work with various teams in the Foundation to support all fundraising programs.
- Address all donor needs in regards to registration, donations, payments, receipts, updates and concerns with ease and grace.
- Welcome and guide visitors, receive deliveries, perform clerical duties and handle cheques.
- Act as the Foundation knowledge expert for Hospital activities and current affairs, as well as the central information hub for Foundation staff and Foundation guests.
- Support best-in-class stewardship by assisting in the delivery of donor engagement touchpoints.
- Update and maintain donor database (Raiser’s Edge) files and records in a timely, accurate manner as per our policies and business processes.
- Prepare and distribute regular program reports and presentation material using various software tools for word processing spreadsheets and database management, including but not exclusive to: Microsoft Word, Excel, Raiser’s Edge, QlikSense and Power Point.
- Manage Foundation social media channels through Hootsuite.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Leading with curiosity, proactively learns about the Hospital’s areas of expertise and excellence – clinical care, research, education and policy – in order to effectively support fundraising priorities.
- Ability to work well under pressure while demonstrating confidence and good judgement.
- Ability to multitask throughout frequent interruptions, fluctuating volumes and pressing deadlines.
- A self-starter with strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
- Results oriented with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Experience in the use of Raiser’s Edge, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to successfully navigate multiple priorities.
- A well-spoken professional who demonstrates sensitivity and a positive attitude at all times.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with a keen attention to detail.
- Applies sound judgement, discretion, tact, courtesy and patience.
- A professional attitude and demeanor to positively represent the Foundation
- A flexible team player able to collaborate and support colleagues and motivated to achieve results.
- Willingness to learn and to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate.
- Post-secondary education preferred

Salary Range: $47,000 – $52,000
