THE ROLE: Under the direction of the Project Management Office (PMO), the IM/IT Senior Business Analyst develops, prepares and documents Information Management/Technology (IM/IT) solutions, such as business objectives, requirements and statements of work. She/he develops IM/IT solutions for desktop, client/server applications, databases, networking, storage, and communications. She/he participates in the development and implementation of technology and liaises with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to research and evaluate business and technical requirements. She/he prepares and presents feasibility studies, prototypes, business cases and cost benefit analysis for IM/IT projects.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
- College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field AND several years of experience in an IM/IT related field
Knowledge:
- Of process modeling and data mapping/conversion
- Of methodologies for development of technical specifications
- Of existing Information Management and Information Technology fields
- Of Microsoft server platforms and operating systems
- Of IM/IT policies, standards and procedures
Experience:
- In scope and change management
- In business and technical documentation
- In creating presentations
- In application integration and delivery challenges
- In a similar IM/IT environment, an asset
Understanding / practice level BABOK
· facilitating Stakeholder meetings – particularly the ability to transform complex technical concepts into formats more easily understood by non-technical (business) audiences.
· Eliciting and documenting Requirements
· Requirements traceability
· Eliciting and developing As-Is and To-Be process models and/or Use Cases (fit gap, options analysis)
· Developing new or enhanced (logical) designs/prototypes
· Developing Test Cases and Test Plans
· Experience developing / supporting Business Case development.
