If you’re an Accountant and create spreadsheets in your sleep, you could find your place in the accounting field with this position. Accountemps is hiring candidates for an exciting entry-level Accountant opportunity, with a highly successful organization in the technology industry. To succeed in this position, you should be able to review financial statements with a heavy data entry component. If you’re an Excel enthusiast, you might be a good fit for this entry-level position. We’re looking for people who are interested in spreadsheet creation and manipulation. This is a short-term temporary-to-full-time entry-level Accountant role based in Rochester, New York.
Your responsibilities in this role
– Ensuring that accounts contained in the general ledger are correct
– Make monthly journal entries
– Carrying out alternate duties and taking part in special projects as assigned
– Researching and rectifying account discrepancies
– Log data
– Aiding in audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits
– Facilitating full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
Job Requirements:
– Strong attention to detail
– Suggested education is an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
– Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Excellent data entry skills
– High-level understanding of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred
– 1 year of relevant accounting experience necessary
– Asset Inventory experience desired
– Proficiency in VLOOKUP
– Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
