POSITION: REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE – OPERATING ROOM
Stratford and Clinton Sites
Full-time
REPORTS TO: Manager, Surgical Services
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $29.39 to $31.17 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Current Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
– Operating Room Nurse Certificate from a recognized program
– Appropriate added nursing skills, i.e., medication, d/c IV, catheterization
– Asepsis Course, CPR
– Knowledge of surgical equipment/instruments/ procedures
– Two years recent operating room (perioperative) experience preferred
ABILITIES:
– Ability to return to work within 20 minutes when on standby /on-call
– Ability to plan and organize effectively
– Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency
– Ability to work as a team member
– Ability to work independently
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing continuing education
