POSITION: REGISTERED NURSE
Primary Site: Stratford
– Integrated Stroke (ISU)/Telemetry
Job Share
REPORTS TO: Manager, Critical Care, Telemetry/ISU and Cardiorespiratory
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $33.56 to $48.05 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
– Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
EXPERIENCE:
– Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Cardiac Care and Stroke/Rehabilitation
– Recent/related courses, in-services in Cardiac Care Nursing and Stroke/Rehabilitation Nursing
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
– Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
– Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
– Ability to work independently and as a team member
– Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
– Ability to engage patient and family partners in patient education related to the
Telemetry/Integrated Stroke setting
– Demonstrated ability to engage patients and families in health teaching promoting
Vascular health
– Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
REQUIRED SKILLS:
– Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
– Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course or equivalent (current experience)
– Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent (current experience)
– National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
– Acute Stroke Unit Orientation (eLearning) modules
– Stroke Rehabilitation Unit Orientation (eLearning) modules
PREFFERED SKILLS:
– Alpha FIM certification
– FIM certification
– Swallowing Screening
– Apex Innovations Canadian Hemispheres Stroke Competency certification
