SteadyFlow - Simplefied Download Manager for Linux

Every browser can download any files, however if you are downloading a large file, your browser may not be the right tool for the job. You browser may crash when the download is in progress, causing you lose all your download and need to restart it from the beginning.

So this is when download managers come in handy, with download managers you can handle large downloads, so you don’t have to worry if your browser crash. One of the download manager is SteadyFlow.

SteadyFlow is a lightweight, simple, minimalist software for managing your download on a Linux desktop.

SteadyFlow has a Clean and Usable Interface, you can add downloads, remove downloads, and pause downloads, you also can close SteadyFlow window so it will continue the download in system tray. It will give you a simple notification when the download is complete.

SteadyFlow also has a Chrome Integration, so if you are using Chrome Browser you can download a file by Right Clicking on it and Click “Download with SteadyFlow”. You can download Chrome Integration here.

How to Install SteadyFlow

To install SteadyFlow you can just add the PPA to your installation and install the SteadyFlow package. To do this, enter the following commands :

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sikon/steadyflow
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install steadyflow

Now check SteadyFlow on your applications menu.
